Adventure is not found through planning, researching, mapping and checklists, but through the events that occur beyond our control, steering a traveler through an experience beyond imagination...

The Lost Cathedral at Satevo

Rio Urique

The Subtropical Region of Urique Canyon
Journey One: Relays our travels from the US/Mexico border at Naco, our stop in Casas Grandes and Creel, all the way to the bottom of Batopilas Canyon and to the Lost Cathedral at Satevo. We crossed the Copper and Batopilas canyons dropping over 7,000 feet in elevation.
Journey Two: Follow us on our trek across 70 miles of unimproved dirt tracks driving from the mission at Satevo across the Barranca (canyon) and Rio de Urique to Tubares. From Tubares we gained elevation back to the pines of Mesa de Arturo stopping in the colonial mining town of Cerocahui.
Journey Three: Starting in Cerocahui we continued southwest traversing Urique Canyon with the small Tarahumaran villages and remote casas of the Sierra Tarahumara towards La Reforma and the subtropical regions leading to the Huites Lake ferry. The adventure ended at the famous colonial city of El Fuerte.
